With the unexpected changes in our daily lives this year due to Covid our e-commerce site has seen both incredible growth and unexpected challenges. We had our highest sales in our company’s history in the beginning months of lock down, but we noticed sales of skateboards started to falter and we received more and more requests for free skateboards. Families were losing jobs left and right and could no longer justify the expense of a skateboard. However with the closure of most youth sports due to risk of infection, skateboarding has become more and more important in keeping youth (and adults!) active. As a company we were tor, our mission is to push skateboarding all over the world and we have a charity we started to provide skateboards to those in economic need. I ran the numbers and we would go bankrupt if we filled every request for a free set up. Around this time I was contacted by the Sezzle Merchant team. I was intrigued by the opportunity their model presented. When I did the video call I was so impressed with their service and their own mission to assist people to purchase items without being annihilated by high interest charges. I was sold on the idea of using Sezzle for our website as a way to help families be able to afford a skateboard. We can track conversions with this code and it averages 15% of people we tell about Sezzle end up on our site spending over $100. I am so thrilled we were contacted by the Sezzle team and are able to offer this service to our customers. It has helped us fulfill our mission to get more and more people to start skateboarding, which is really at the end of the day what matters. A world without skateboarding would be a sad, sad place!
